Cantilever Rack Bases

A cantilever rack base anchored to the floor

What the Base Does

The column's foot. It runs under the arms and keeps the loaded tower from tipping. Product can sit on it as the lowest level.

Double-sided base, anchored at both ends.

Sizes

The base extends past the arm. Base length and anchor count come from the maker's drawing for your arm length and load. Seismic designs get longer bases and more anchors.

Anchoring

Wedge anchors through the end plates, sized by the maker or engineer. Asphalt or gravel needs concrete pads or piers first. See pallet rack anchors.

Using the Base as a Level

Heaviest product goes here. Keep loads centered and inside the base ends.

Common questions

How long does a cantilever base need to be?

Longer than the arm. The maker's drawing gives the length for your arm and load.

Does a cantilever rack have to be anchored?

Yes. Outdoor racks on asphalt need concrete pads or piers.

Can I store product on the base?

Yes, centered and inside the base ends.

Single or double base?

Match the columns: double for double-sided, single for single-sided.
